STRANGE is a European initiative that uses grassroots sport to challenge gender stereotypes and promote genuine inclusion and equality.
The project strengthens the capacity of coaches and sport managers by equipping them with practical tools, gender-sensitive training methods, and evidence-based resources. Through coach training, the development of gender-inclusive sport curricula, and community sport events, STRANGE works to create safer, fairer, and more welcoming environments for all athletes—regardless of gender.
By combining education, research, and hands-on sport activities, the project empowers sport organisations to recognise and address gender bias, foster respectful attitudes, and embed inclusive practices into their daily work. STRANGE aims to inspire long-term behavioural change and contribute to a more equitable and diverse grassroots sport ecosystem across Europe.
