RELEVIUM

RELEVIUM – Improving quality of life of advanced pancreatic cancer patients through an AI-guided multimodal intervention, combining pain and cachexia management, nutrition, and physical activity

Description

Improving the quality of life of pancreatic cancer patients  through advanced pain and cachexia management, nutrition, and physical activity interventions. The RELEVIUM project, a 4 year old Horizon EU funded project develops smart tools such as a smartwatch and an innovative remote ultrasound patch equipped with the necessary sensors needed in order to provide a stream of evidence on symptom progression. Pairing these with an AI-driven platform, pancreatic cancer patients are assisted and enabled to achieve the maximum achievable quality of life.

Objectives

The overall objective of RELEVIUM is to develop care plans for improving the quality of life of advanced or
metastatic pancreatic cancer patients based on data collected from remote monitoring devices and AI algorithms. Specifically RELEVIUM will:

  1. Advanced pain and sarcopenia monitoring of patients
  2. Multi-modal technology-assisted interventions to improve QoL of pancreatic cancer patients
  3. Development of models for early cachexia trajectory, a syndrome causing increased morbidity and mortality
  4. Development of models for care decision support
